Barefootism NOT Barefooting

Notice the difference in suffixes...  believe it or not, that's important.  You see Barefootism, while rooted in the physical act of barefooting, is not necessarily focused on barefooting.  Many barefooters might be upset about this, because the major cause of the barefooting community is making barefooting "legal" and/or more accepted in society, and an official "Barefoot" religion may help them in that endeavor.  But the main cause of Barefootism is not legal issues, or social acceptance, but instead... unconditional compassion.

That's right... Unconditional Compassion.  And while the act of being barefoot is the very foundation of Barefootism's philosophical teachings, and is in fact how I came to understand my dependent nature, being barefoot is not a requirement for being a Barefootist.  Nor does wearing shoes negate the truth that Barefootism teaches.

This is very important to remember because the most important "act" you can perform is not walking barefoot... but an act of true compassionate charity.  That's where Barefootism's role lies.
